The restaurant “Sceccu D’Oru”: discovering the traditional tastes of Sicilian cuisine.
Sicilian cuisine is one of the richest cuisines in all the world. It is a mix of tastes that have transformed throughout the centuries thanks to the influences of different cultures (like Arab, Spanish and French).
Baglio Donna Franca opens it’s doors offering dishes that have been re-discovered and re-invented within traditional Sicilian cuisine. In the restaurant’s elegant setting, it is possible to experience serene moments with family and friends while appreciating good cuisine and good wine.
A wave of flavours: our territory, benefitting from both land and sea, offers various prime ingredients unique in their own right like, bran flour, wild vegetables, typical cheeses, legumes, caponata, frascatole with bean purée, optimal olive oil from Valle del Belice, fresh fish from the Stagnone and fresh lobster from the Egadi islands, (both which are great for fish soup).
Last but not least, you can also try the infamous cous-cous Trapanese style, which is a plate intimately tied to the antique traditions of the area. Or “ghiotta” a typical Trapanese soup, pasta with sardines, spaghetti with squid ink and spaghetti with sea urchin eggs.Adding to the already rich Sicilian cuisine is it’s selection of desserts like: cannoli with ricotta cheese, Cassata Siciliana, Sbriciolata with ricotta, cassatelle, sfinci.
All this good cuisine is also followed by an important wine culture. Among our vineyards are born three important and valued wines: the red IGT Sicily “Cipponeri” composed of Nero D’Avola and Perricone, the white IGT Sicily “Abbadessa” composed of the native grapes Grillo and Zibbibo, and also a special dessert wine IGT Sicilia Passito “Aruta” with is composed of Zibbibo.
Our restaurant offers a vast amount of different wines including the more prestigious here in Sicily as well as the best from the Trapani area.
The tradition, the genuineness and the simplicity of our products are the main principles that can be discovered dining at our table.
